Washington

Welcome to Washington: Where Flannel is a Lifestyle, Bigfoot Might Be Your Neighbor, and Coffee Runs Through Everyone’s Veins
Washington State
We went on a family road trip at the end of August for my brother’s birthday and we all really wanted to go to Seattle. Here is a little look into what we did at this state!
Glass Garden
Waterfront
The Needle
Spokane
First part of the road trip:
We entered from Vancouver, Canada and it was the first time we crossed the border by car. It was interesting as the lines were long, so people were able to stop and use the restrooms. My fifteen year old brain was blown.

View from the Space Needle

Needing the See the Needle
The Space Needle is the first step in our Seattle journey. Being an iconic landmark in Seattle with around 40 floors, the views of the city are breathtaking! You can see the waterfront, ships, and all the high rises in the city. We also got to see people zip line down (we were not brave enough for that) and there was a large SOS sign on the bottom that we could see. I wonder why that is?
The observatory also has a glass floor on one of the floors, and you can look right below you. It is very high up!
The Needle from the Bottom
Green, Green, Glass
We got tickets to see the Chihuly Garden and Glass at the same time as when we got tickets to see the Space Needle. It was a good deal, and they are right beside each other. The Garden of Glass is super pretty with some cool exhibits of natural and synthetic pieces of art coming together. To the right shows some pretty plants with some cool glass fixtures. They also taught you glassblowing and how to make glass.

Classy Photos? More like Glassy Photos
Pardon my, puns but here are some more cool photos of glass structures from the museum!

Waterfront and Pike Place!
One of the hallmarks of Seattle, we checked out the market for some souvenirs, some fresh food, and some other fun stuff! At the same time we checked out the famous ferris wheel and walked along the water front. There were some big cruise ships and we wondered where they would take people.

Spokane
Spokane is another city in Washington that is of note! I wish I spent more time here but we had to stop and get some gas. If we had some more time we would have definitely visited more.
Food
And of course we have to talk about to food. Firstly, coffee here is a must if you enjoy a nice cup. The first Starbucks was here and you can definitely check it out, it is a local landmark!
Secondly, with a large population, you can experience lots of different foods here! My dad’s friend took us to a dimsum restaurant, and their dumplings were delicious. Enjoy a photo of Devin cutting a slice of cake and me staring at him. Go Devin!
